Inlay wooden box

Marquetry or wooden inlay is a very ancient type of decoration, which remained the prerogative of Italian craftsmanship until the 16th century. It is made by combining pieces of wood of different shapes, colours and sizes in order to obtain complex designs on doors, furniture and boxes.
